Aghazadeh Historical House of Abarkooh is one of the most beautiful historical houses in the country with a special desert architecture. Unlike most windcatchers, it has two floors and added to the beauty of this historic monument. This beautiful house with 820 square meters of land and 528 meters of underground infrastructure with traditional Iranian brick architecture is related to the Qajar era.
Aghazadeh house and its windcatcher belong to the Qajar period and are located in Abarkooh, Darvazeh neighborhood, Abarkooh Square. This house, which has an area of 820 square meters, belongs to Seyyed Hossein Abarghooyi , one of the richest people in Abarkooh. This mansion has such a beautiful and unique architecture that today it has become one of the symbols of the country and on many of Iran's export goods, the image of this mansion and its windcatcher is engraved.
The two-story windcatcher is one of the most important and attractive parts of Aghazadeh historical house. The height of this windcatcher is 18 meters and its area is 18 square meters. This windcatcher is one of the largest windcatchers in Iran in terms of size and area which has 19 air regulation valves in the windcatcher opening, which has been coordinated and directly connected with the second windcatcher.
Next to this two-story windcatcher, there is a beautiful pergola (Kolah Farangi). with Muqarnas decorations. The windcatcher and the pergola pergola mansion (Kolah Farangi). are used to cool and illuminate the basement and the hall of the house, respectively, and at the same time, it has created an innovative combination.
This house, which is one of the old houses, we have to go through its Vestibule (or porch) and corridor to enter its central courtyard. There are four entrances in the Vestibule (or porch), each of which is to enter the interior, exterior, stables and crew room.
It is interesting to know that the inner entrance door is made at a 90 degree angle and in such a way that it is not visible from the Vestibule (or porch) inside, which shows the culture of the Iranians at that time. It is worth mentioning that this house is built on three fronts, so that each of these parts is suitable for one of the seasons of year. The northern front of the house, which is for winter, has a five-door room with a wall heater. Two corridors and two three-door rooms are other constructions of this section.
