Carpet Museum of Iran
The Carpet Museum of Iran is one of the most valuable examples of Iranian rugs from the 9th century to the contemporary period and is considered a rich source of research for researchers and art enthusiasts. Usually about 135 boards of Iranian carpet masterpieces are displayed in the ground floor hall of the important carpenter's centers such as Kashan, Kerman, Isfahan, Tabriz, Khorasan, Kurdistan and others. In the museum's library, about 3,500 books are available to art historians and researchers in Persian, Arabic, French, English and German.
There are also the best books and publications related to Persian carpets and East carpets in general, as well as books on religion, arts and literature in the museum library. Alongside the library, the bookstore is also in the museum. It is also displayed in the museum's gallery for the use of museum visitors, films and slides in the field of carpets and handicrafts of Iran. Also in this exhibition, the tabloids of Tabriz Carpets, will be displayed, which attracts the attention of every visitor.
The Carpet Museum of Iran has an area of 3400 meters. It is divided into two separate halls. The main hall on the ground floor is a permanent exhibition of 150 pieces of rugs from different periods from the 9th century to the contemporary period. The design and architecture of the museum's construction is suited to its theme. Abdul Aziz Faramanfarmaeian is one of the founders of the new engineering system and designer of major and important works such as Mehrabad Airport, Azadi Stadium, Niavaran Palace, and the Tehran Stock Exchange Museum. He created the museum's exterior as a carpet and the most important feature of the works he designed is the spirit and essence of being Iranian and maintaining authenticity.
The upper floor hall is fitted for seasonal and thematic exhibitions. In addition to the two halls, the museum has a specialized library with 3500 book titles in Arabic, German, Farsi, English and French, which is a rich reference point for students, researchers and interested parties in Persian carpets and rugs that provide valuable information.
Another of the best parts of this museum is a very beautiful and valuable rug called "Mirza Kuchak Khan" rug that is woven in 130 * 220 centimeters by Iranian carpet weavings. There is no accurate history of the carpet's texture, but it seems that it was made at the end of the Qajar era.
Rug is known as Mirza Kuchak Khan, which displays this national character in gun-armed uniforms. In the mirror above the image of Mirza, an inscription with the name and the name of Molla Mahmoud's factory is visible, which is probably due to the history of the carpet texture of the last years of the Qajar period.
Shahnameh's rug has been shown that depicts parts of Iranian literature, myth, religion, and rich arts and culture. These works were all created at the masterpiece of Mousavi Siret's carpet workshop, with the help of young Iranian artists and taste of the master of the world and computer technology.
The Carpet Museum of Iran is located on the northwest of Tehran's Laleh Park. The address of the carpet museum is: Tehran, Enqelab Square, North Kargar St., Dr Fatemi Crossing, Southern East Side Crossroad, Carpet Museum of Iran.
