Kharanaq village has been called the birthplace of the sun in history and its antiquity dates back to ancient times. Kharanaq Castle is one of the largest rural residential castles in Yazd province and one of several castles with two or three and multi-storey houses in the world, and it is like an exhibition whose pavilions are made of clay and mud.
Another historical monument of Kharanaq village is the caravanserai, which dates back to the Sasanian period. This bridge has never been a transit point for individuals or animals. The only purpose of this bridge is to transfer water from one beach to the other on the Cal River.Depending on the structure of this bridge, you will encounter a stone foundation along the bridge, which also makes it possible for the bridge to be strong against floods and not be broken.
It is a minaret that dates back to the Sasanian era and with 15 meters height from the roof of the mosque, is one of the tallest buildings in the region. The minaret has three floors and two spiral staircases, and has been used as a watchtower and lighthouse.
The historical Kharanaq village is located in the north of Yazd, 50 km from Ardakan city, on the Ardakan-Tabas road.
